Yingana (the creation mother) Arnhem Land Day Tour - Injalak Hill

An early pick up in Darwin requires motivation but this is rewarded with one of the best days in the top end.

The drive through Kakadu National Park sees an amazing sunrise over wetlands with a short breakfast break or coffee at Corroboree Tavern.

We then proceed to Jabiru and transfer to our four wheel drive vehicle for the trip to Arnhem Land across the notorious Cahill's crossing, where with any luck we'll see crocodiles at their favourite fishing spot.

Once in Arnhem Land where the indigenous culture is still dominant you will notice the landscape changes with high escarpments and open wetlands.

After morning tea and guided tour of Injalak Arts and Crafts centre we collect our indigenous guide and head for Injalak Hill a meeting place of traditional owners for thousands of years, telling stories through rock art, and overlooking neighboring escarpment and wetlands.

We take a leisurely walk through rock art galleries that are considered some of the best in Australia. See flint arrow heads discarded and

unused.

We have lunch overlooking Magpie Goose Dreaming and wetlands.

This is a unique opportunity to spend time with traditional owners and learn about their culture and law.
